Titian - CUVS' Most Talented Pet

CUVS Proudly Presents...

Titian!

(pronounced "tih-shin")

Titian

Titian recently won our Pet Talent contest with his stellar acting skills and excellent personality. He has appeared in a couple of commercials where he has enjoyed the attention of his very own agent, director and producer. He even had his own bottled water on set!

But Titian is no diva. When he's not acting in commericals, he spends his time as a busy therapy dog. Recently recertified by Pet Partners as a therapy dog, he participated in UCONN's Paws to Relax program during final exam week, helping decrease test anxiety in students! He's also planning to attend Operation Purple with Channel 3's Kids Camp this Summer will he will be working with kids of military families. He will also continue his work with Pet Partners.

What's even more incredible is that Titian is a survivor of brain cancer! 3 and a half years ago, Titian was diagnosed with a brain tumor called a "meningioma". CUVS oncologist Dr. Gerald Post states that "meningiomas are one of the most common intracranial (brain) tumors in dogs. These tumors arise from the meninges, the membrane covering the brain and spinal cord. All dogs are at risk of getting this tumor, but the breeds of dogs that are predisposed are the Boxer and Golden Retriever. These tumors rarely spread or metastasize." With the help of surgery and radiation, Titian recovered and is planning to continue his mission to bring awareness and fund-raising for canine cancer research.

Titian's mom Christina says, "Titian is very fortunate to have great veterinary specialists here in CT, and especially at CUVS where he gets his eye exams." With the help of incredible veterinary specialists like the ones at CUVS, The Veterinary Cancer Center in Norwalk, the New England Veterinary Oncology Group, and his surgeons at UPENN, Titian is living proof of what the advanced world of veterinary specialty medicine can do for an animal's health and longevity.

Titian is an incredible dog and companion and we're happy to acknowledge him as the star that he is! Congrats Titian - have an incredible Summer!
