Specialty Certification
American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Dr. Whitney Phipps is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Following a rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center and a surgery internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, she completed a residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University in 2018. After serving New England pets and their families at a private practice for several years, she now provides surgery services to multiple hospitals, including CUVS.
Dr. Phipps enjoys both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, surgical management of polytrauma, fracture repair, and soft tissue reconstruction. Although she loves the operating room, Dr. Phipps is careful to consider non-surgical options when appropriate. “The most important part of case management is to help pet parents understand the available options and work with them to optimize their pet’s quality of life. “
